Hola! Como Estas?

I really do think I like every kind of music. Of course there are lots of songs I do not like, but I think I can find something in every genre that I like. That includes Latin Music. My favorite Latin Artist is Juanes. I first learned about Juanes in my high school Spanish class. Before that I never really chose to listen to music I couldn't understand. But music isn't all about understanding the words, you can learn the words, but it's music to another nation as well. People is South America might not listen to our music because they don't understand it, but it is music to us. I have learned to appreciate all sorts of music in different languages. First I loved it because of the melody, beat, and then I learned the words and it all flowed. It's beautiful. I am sort of impartial to Latin music because I love Spanish, Spanish people, and their countries. But you can do this with any nationality. You can do this with any song in a different language. That is also what I love about Josh Groban, he sings English, Spanish, Italian, french, etc. You connect with all different sorts of people if you appreciate different genres of music.

Overnight Star

It amazes me when I have never heard about a song or artist before and then I hear their song on the radio and all of a sudden they are on the radio all the time and a top hit on Itunes, etc. I am talking about Ke$ha and her song Tik Tok. So by now you all know I am not much into rap, but I do appreciate all genres. And if someone loves rap I will support them, because they love music and you can't deny a fellow music lover. So anyway this song is kind of a white girl rap song, but it is AMAZING! It is like my new favorite song. Man I sound like a 13 year old girl. Haha. Really, it has cool lyrics and a great beat. Anything that makes me want to dance is two thumbs up on my chart. It is sort of funny too because it seems kind of sarcastic, or she is just making fun of herself. She also uses words like crunk, swagger, and drop-toppin', kind of makes me want to get my ganster on. I probably sound ridiculous. Young white girl talking about crunk. Haha. Man I am in a goofy mood.

A History lesson...

I know I m a dork, but I love the song "We didn't start the fire" by Billy Joel. I think it is brilliant for songs to teach something. If you haven't heard this song, it is a timeline about main events throughout the 1900's by decade. It is brilliant and I can't help, but sing along. I have noticed this with other songs as well, it is so much easier to remember stuff if it's in a song. I learned about this song in my junior year of high school in AP US History class. Ever since then it has been one of my favorites. I know all the words too now :). I just have to post the lyrics because it is so cool.

Everybody's "pink" on the inside

I love artists that have gone through so much and who actually have a story behind their music. Pink is one of those artists. I watched a Behind the Music on her the other day. SHe went through drugs in her early teen years. Every kind of drug imaginable pretty much. But so she could sing in a lub she had to quit doing drugs and she loved music more than that so she never did drugs since. He music and lyrics also broadcast her pain she went through with love, family, and indifference. She is so different from many of the singers during her early years, like CHristina Aguilera and Britney Spears. That is what I like about her she doesn't care about popularity. But her songs reflect her pain, which makes everyone feel her pain and relate, which makes them a hit. SHe had very popular songs in the 90s like missunderstood, just like a pill, family portrait, but her knew ones I love as well like So What, Funhouse, and so on. She has a beautiful voice, it's very different and so you don't mix her up with those other bubble gum artists.

Another God among Men

So yet again I am going to blog about another great inspirational singer, and not a band. Sorry, but I love these guys. So today I am going to praise Josh Groban. He has one of the most amazing singing voices in the entire world. It kind of reminds me of opera, but hip. His voice too big for him, but that is what makes him exceptional. I have not heard anyone say that they don't like him. Maybe some don't listen to him, but you can't deny the fact that he is an amazing singer. He also sings in different languages, like Spanish, Italian, English and some others. He is only 28 years old too! Whoa! Some of his songs that I love are Awake, Now or Never, February song, and some of his foreign songs. He is also really nice guy. I saw on Oprah where he suprised a girl who asked him to prom (he couldn't go, but he did respond to her), and sung Awake to her. it was so sweet. I would love to see him in concert too.

He's a God!

Have you guys ever seen The Road to El Dorado? It's a kids cartoon movie about a couple of friend who get a map to the Gold city "El Dorado". And blah blah blah, I won't ruin it for you, but Elton John does the songs and soundtrach for El Dorado. I listen to it about every week. It is truly exceptional. That man is one in a million. A God really. he has a beautiful voice can play the piano beautifully. Everyone knows who Elton John is too, you know The Lion King. Duh! I would definitely pay to see him in concert, except I don't htink he does that anymore. Actually I haven't heard about him in the news for a long time :(. He need to have a comeback, like Britney Spears, just kidding. But I think he needs to do another soundtrack or concert again. That would truly brighten my life. I can't also pass up, what a vivid dresser he is. What a classy guy.

New classics

The other day I was driving in my car, listening to the radio of course. And I turned to a station where a rockin' song was on. I could tell by the music that it was an 80s song, and I fell in love. I found out later it was by a band I liked Van Valen, well technically it was by their lead singer as a solo. But I love it when you find a new song, that was done a long time ago, by a band you love. Just if you are wondering it was "Your Love is Driving Me Crazy" by Sammy Hagar. That actually happens to me a lot. Even with songs I have heard before, maybe you learn to love it later, or you are in a type of mood. I am pretty sure I have heard this before, but it really affect me now. Since I have been doing this for a little while, you probably already know, I really love the beat and music, more than the lyrics. I do think they both have an equal role to make a song perfect, but if it doesn't have a killer beat and amazing melody, it probably won't catch my ear. Only a few songs, which I can name, completely get me by lyrics, but they do have a nive tune as well.

Disney Channel actors or singers?

So I am not really into music that is by people that are younger than me. Those Disney channel artists honestly really bug me. I used to hate Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus. But I think she is growing up to still be an example to younger kids. I am actually starting to like her music. Her Party in the USA song is quite amazing. She used to be this silly, skinny little brat on tv and now she seems more experienced, I don't even think of her as younger than me anymore, but just an talented artist. Her music videos are pretty cool too, she incorporates her acting experience in there as well. Even though I don't think she is the best of actors, but she is a very talented singer. I can't stand those other Disney channel actors/singers like the Jonas brothers, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and so on. Miley is the only one that really has come out of that all.
