I miss you iTunes!

So lately my computer has been dead to the world, something about my motherboard??? SO I haven't been able to get on my iTunes and download more songs on to my iPod. I normally find a new song I like every couple of days and then I listen to it constantly for the next few days. So this has been very hard for me. I am craving new songs to listen to, even though I already have thousands of songs on my iPod. So I actually have been listening to my radio in my car all the time now. They actually repeat a lot of songs, but I am doing this just because I hope they play the new songs that I can't download. Man I never knew it would be so hard without my computer and even my iTunes. I can live, but see what this generation is coming to rely on technology so much. People in the past would have thought we were crazy!!!!!

I love musicals! Lots of my albums on my Ipod are soundtracks from musicals and their movies. I have Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, High School Musicals, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Across the Universe, Dreamgirls, to name a few. They have some of the best music though. Everything links together ands they normally have some of the best singers out there. I like it too, because it's like a huge music video with tons of songs and a long story. It's also like a movie but with people acting it all the way through. I have only been to a few live ones, but there aren't many big time musicals playing in Idaho, you either have to go to New York or California. The music is amazing though.

All that Jazz!

I just wanted to make a quick little blip about a music style that doesn't get to much press nowadays, but I still think it's super. JAZZ! My family used to listen to jazz every Sunday morning while making breakfast, they normally blast it so it wakes me up anyway, which is kind of annoying, but I have learned to love and appreciate jazz. It's all about the music with jazz, maybe sometimes their lyrics, but Jazz is music. It's very smooth and seductive sounding. Not much beat, but long chords being smoothly blended into the next note. It's pure genius. And to any of you that don't like jazz, I don't understand you, but those that don't listen to it, give it a try. I mean, I know what you are probably are going to say, that you would rather listen to something else with lyrics and a beat, but give jazz a chance. At least once a week try and listen to a song or two, it actually soothes you or livens you up, which ever you need.

BOOOOOO Kanye!

Since being a huge music fan, I can't dismiss the VMAs on Sunday. Of course the music was off the wall, but I can't hide the main event. So I guess if you haven't heard that Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech saying that Beyonce deserves the win, then you have been living under a rock. I am actually not a big Taylor Swift fan or Kanye West fan, but still this display was unbelievable. It's just plain common sense to not interrupt an acceptance speech, even to a sweet little girl like Taylor Swift. I got very angry that someone would even have the nerve to do that an not apologize to her. He apparently apologized three times on talk shows or something like that, but not even to her face or called her, I think he did later, but he should do it right after he realized he had done something wrong. I think everyone is very mad at him and his sales will probably go down a ton, because I know there are a lot more Taylor Swift fans than Kanye fans. I am sorry, I am just appalled that someone would not even have the decency to interrupt something like that and not to apologize. I think he has some mental problem or something, or he thinks that he is better than everyone, and if it is the latter he needs to be dealt with promptly. Well anyway, the rest of the performances at the VMA were fabulous and might I say Lady Gaga's outfits are off the wall.

Solitude/Solitaire

So tonight, I just found out how to transfer my songs from my old Ipod to my new Ipod. Lots of songs on my old Ipod I lost the cds so I never got to put them on my new one. One soundtrack I found on my old Ipod I haven't listened to in years, and i used to listen to it so much growing up. It's Peter Cetera's Solitude/Solitaire. I never realized until I started listening to it again how much I missed it. This is bringing out the complete 80's girl fanatic in me. The music is so 80s too, anyone can tell. It's beautiful. So I just keep listening to it and when it gets to the end I listen to it again. This will be definitely one of those that if I keep listening to it over and over again, I will get it stuck in my head. Cetera's music is so soulful and has a great beat you can't help but dance to. His music's lyrics also have so much and they tell a story not like some of the irritating music nowadays that just repeats over and over again. Many have heard his music as the lead singer of the group Chicago, and such songs as "You're my Inspiration", and "Glory of Love". I usually like the ones people haven't really heard of like "Big Mistake" and "Queen of the Masquerade Ball". I am so happy I can listen to him again.

Don't Stop Believin'

I knew I couldn't wait much longer, before I started talking about Journey. They have been my favorite band since I was 15. I just barely got to see them in concert for the first time a few weeks back. It was when of the best nights of my life. I got to enjoy an amazing concert and then met the band got pictures with them and their autographs. They are living legends! I love their music. It seems relative to everyone. Their song Don't Stop Belivin' is the most downloaded song on Itunes, most everyone has heard of them, if not love them too. They have been through tough times losing Steve Perry who made journey famous, because of his one-of-a-kind voice. But Arnel Pineda the new lead singer is just as impressive, but it is hard to live up to Journey's ultimate status. They have amazing voices, amazing music, and amazing talent. I would see them in concert any chance possible.
